Asda opens ‘Meeting Room’ for book Clubs

To celebrate the 18th annual World Book Day on Thursday, March, Asda Coleraine has announced that it is opening up its meeting room space to allow local book clubs to host their get-togethers at the store free-of-charge.

As part of Asda’s Community Life programme, community groups and charities are able to gain free access to Asda’s meeting rooms and everything from smoking cessation classes to parenting advice clinics have been held in stores so far.

The retailer in Coleraine is now calling on any local book clubs who are interested in using the meeting room space to get in touch.

Sheila Palmer, Community Life Champion at Asda Coleraine, said, “Community Life is all about working with our local community to offer services which matter, support local causes which make a difference and work towards common community goals.”

“It can be a real struggle for people to find a suitable place to host a book club gathering and we’ve excellent meeting room facilities in the store which we can offer to local groups when they are not in use.

“If anyone is interested in using our space then they can just contact me at the store and we can help them to get this set up.

“Hopefully as a result more and more people will be able to come together to enjoy the experience of sharing a good book!”

Schools across the borough will support the day with special events.
