Festive fun for all the family this December at Hillsborough Castle

Embrace the spirit of the season with a visit to Hillsborough Castle and Gardens, where a new trail promises a host of festive fun, all thanks to a little help from Santa and his elves.

Pick up a trail map on arrival and enjoy a wintry stroll in the open air with family, keeping eyes peeled for a bit of Christmas magic along the way. With 100 acres to explore, will you be able to spot all the magical elves and fairies hiding in Hillsborough’s enchanted gardens, or even catch a glimpse of the man himself?

Starting in the recently restored Walled Garden, the Summer House has been transformed into Santa’s study for the festive season, complete with a post box for those all-important letters. He’s a very busy man, but Santa will be popping by to keep an eye on the Castle’s preparations for Christmas.

The elves have also been busy at work, creating hand-crafted gifts for lucky boys and girls.

Take a sneak peek into their workshop and see for yourself, and keep your eyes peeled for their tiny village hidden among the trees. Elsewhere, silhouettes of fairies will guide visitors around the beautiful Moss Walk.
