Virtual concert from the Lindsay Chorale

Like so many musical organisations, not only in Northern Ireland, but indeed throughout the world, Covid-19 has meant that over the past year the Lindsay Chorale have no longer been able to meet for rehearsals and performances.

Fortunately modern technology has meant that the group can meet up online, and since last September they have held weekly rehearsals on Zoom

Of course due to a number of concerts having to be cancelled, Lindsay Chorale, like so many others have suffered financially, but thanks to the generosity of Newry, Mourne & Down Council, the group hopes to receive a grant towards tuition and music.

The choir have arranged a virtual charity concert on Zoom on Friday March 26 at 7.30pm.

The ‘live’ programme is being provided entirely by the members themselves with a mixture of solos, duets, recitations and a little bit of humour thrown in for good measure.

There will also be a few videos of Chorale pieces, recorded at their last Annual concert.

Two years ago one of the Lindsay Chorale members was diagnosed with cancer and spent the next eighteen months receiving treatment in the MacDermott Cancer Unit at the Ulster Hospital. Others in the chorale have also received similar treatment there, and money raised from this event will be given to the MacDermott Cancer Unit.

Whilst there is no obligation to donate to the charity, Lindsay Chorale can also give you details of how you can do so.
