Due to heavy overnight rain the course was closed all day Saturday but in the late afternoon the rain cleared and the first nine holes were open for play on Sunday to temporary greens.

Chris Warwick (23) and Wesley Haslett (28) returned the best scores to top Division 3.

Both players had birdie threes for five points. Wesley had a birdie three at the third while Chris had a birdie three at the fifth.

Chris followed with a par three at the short sixth for three more points and was declared the winner on count back over the last six holes. Martin McDonald (20) was next best with 18 points after starting with two ‘dings.’

Ian Sayers (11) started with three ‘three pointers’ thanks to a birdie at the second. He dropped strokes at the fourth and ninth for a total of 37 strokes and 22 points to win Division 1.

Club Captain Ken Haslem (10) was second with 21 points despite a ‘ding’ at the short sixth.

In Division 2 Barry McQuillan (17) and Chris Davis (17) tied with 22 pts. Chris started with three ‘three pointers’ but Barry’s birdie three at the fifth for 4 points gave him top spot on count back.

Only Colin Reid and Michael Rooney had birdie twos. Both were successful at the short fourth.

After snow and rain the golfers are looking forward to better weather next Saturday when hopefully the course will be open even if play has to be to the temporary greens.
