We must get ruthless says Jeffrey

DAVID Jeffrey says Linfield need to become 'ruthless' again when on top in games.

The Blues host the visit of Portadown on Saturday and the boss has stressed the importance of putting the ball in the net.

"You don't win back to back titles, doubles and so on without being ruthless and burying teams when you are on top," said Jeffrey.

"We are lacking that essential aspect of our game at present. We have another big test ahead with Portadown. Ronnie McFall always has his team fired up for these matches.

"The last time we met was in May in the Irish Cup final and we were most fortunate to scrape home in that game.

"At the back we have the best defensive record, but you need to get it right up front too, but I am confident that will happen."
