Superstition or the formbook?

WARREN YM have tried five times to win an Ironside Cup final and failed, but they are the current form team, while their Boxing Day opponents, Sandy Row, only arrived in the South Antrim League last year.

If you are superstitious you will plump for Sandy Row, but Warren are going great guns since being promoted this season.

You can decide - form book or superstition, but I am not a superstitious person and will plump for Warren to overcome the hoodoo at last.

They beat high-flying Ballymacash in the semi-final and are certainly in the title hunt, so it makes sense to predict a Warren win.

On the other hand Sandy Row beat the holders, Glaston, in the semi-final and they will certainly be up for the opportunity to grab their first South Antrim trophy.

Sandy Row are in the title race though outside the leading trio and they can raise their performance level on the day to make it a great final.

But, come on, let’s not be superstitious!

n Ironside Cup final, Sandy Row v Warren YM, at Stanley Park on Boxing Day, Thursday, December 26, kick-off 11.00am
