Special mention must go to Amy Stewart, aged 8, who won two gold and one bronze medal, making her the club’s most successful player of the tournament. Amy is now currently British and NI champion in the team event and Northern Ireland champion in individuals. In addition, the club won the second place overall team trophy.

This competition was enjoyed by all Lisburn’s players and allowed them to gain valuable experience at an international level, testing their skills against some very seasoned players. The Lisburn team was largely composed of children under the age of 10 and the club are particularly proud of the focus and determination they showed, both in training and on the day.

Club Instructor Master Peter Stewart would like to extend his thanks to Sport Lisburn and Lisburn City Council for their continued support. For more information, please visit the website at www.lisburntaekwondo.co.uk
