Success for athletes from Lisburn 2gether

THIS year sees the Special Olympics Regional Advancement competitions taking place to see who will qualify for the Irish National Games in summer 2014. With Lisburn 2gether competiting in 4 sports this was always going to be an exciting time for everyone at the Club.

On 19th and 20th April, Lisburn 2gether bocce athletes, Oliver Magee, Chris Parker, Stephen Lyons and Matthew Neeson took part in the Special Olympics two-day Regional Bocce Games held in the Jim Baker Stadium at Templepatrick.

All four athletes won a gold medal on the first day of the games in the singles matches and on the second day of competition during the doubles Matthew and Stephen won a gold with Oliver and Chris gain a silver. A fantastic result for these athletes and their club, who were up against stiff competition from 8 other clubs in their region.
