The opposition came out strong winning a penalty corner in the first five minutes, South defence fought back well with strong hits from Captain Emma Kay up high.

The ladies fought well pushing up with great passes but North Down soon recognised the pattern quickly and the mid-field players were incapacitated and immediately put under pressure. North Down scored with a quick attack.

In the second half South fought brilliantly with great defence from the back and constant hassle from the mids. The forwards had chances in the second half winning 3 penalty corners but unfortunately couldn’t convert. North Down took this advantage and seized a second goal.

Overall a strong performance from the ladies and a fantastic game was played between the two teams but there could only be one winner. Players of the Match went to Rachel Sullivan and Alex Dugan. Many thanks to Andrew Smylie for umpiring. A special mention to El Fegan at Polercise for sponsoring the home match.
