Salto quartet clean up at the 2015 Northern Ireland Gymnastics Awards

Four Lisburn gymnasts won awards at the Northern Ireland Gymnastics Awards Ceremony.

The gymnasts, all from City of Lisburn Salto club scooped the prizes at the ceremony held at The Andrew’s Gallery, Titanic Belfast on Saturday 14th November.

Anthony Monaghan won the Inclusive Gymnastics award while Patrick Quinlivan picked up the award for Disability Gymnastics.

Ewan McAteer won the Men’s Artistic award and Nicole Mawhinney lifted the Women’s Artistic award.

The annual event combined The British Gymnastics Northern Ireland and Gymnastics Northern Ireland Awards recognising, rewarding and celebrating the hard work individuals and groups have done for the amazing sport of Gymnastics over the past 18 months.

This year’s ceremony was the biggest to date, with a sold out audience of two hundred guests in attendance from eighteen clubs throughout Northern Ireland.

Special guests included executives from Sport Northern Ireland, Volunteer Now and British Gymnastics, as well as committee members from Gymnastics Northern Ireland to present the awards to clubs, coaches and volunteers within the home country.

A ‘great’ night was had by all with professional photography provided by George Pennock Photography and entertainment provided until the end of the evening by Photobooth NI and DJ Brian Rice.

British Gymnastics would like to say a big congratulations to all the British Gymnastics NI Award winners, with over 60 nominations received it was a highly competitive judging process.

A spokesperson for British Gymnastics said: “It was fantastic to see such a great turn out from the gymnastics community to support and celebrate the achievements within the sport in Northern Ireland. ”
