Private Greens' flag flies over Hilden green

THE Private Greens' Association flag was unfurled at the Hilden Bowling Club green last Friday night and will fly there during this season.

Hilden secretary, Cecil Marsden, who was appointed Private Greens' president for this season performed the ceremony in front of several distinguished visitors.

Among the guests were the Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Allan Ewart, Councillor David Archer, Chairman of the Leisure Services committee, Councillor Thomas Beckett and Director of Leisure Services, Jim Rose.

Other Association President's present were Robert Madden PTBA, Keith Davey, the NIBA vice-president and the BLI president. Doreen Miskelly, Hilden ladies president and also Private Greens' Womens' Association president, also attended along with Hilden president, Raymond Gourley.

The guests were entertained to dinner after the ceremony and some bowlers took to the green.
