Priesthill give Ballinderry fright

Priesthill gave Ballinderry a fright before losing by eight shots and taking two points in Section A of the Roy Kennedy Fuels Lisburn Indoor Bowling League.

The first two games were shared and Priesthill were a shot down but a 12 shots win for Gordon Stubbs took Ballinderry to victory though his brother, Raymond, lost to Ian Ferguson.

A five at the fifth gave Keith Morrison a 7-2 lead but three at the seventh brought Roy Kennedy back to 6-7 before Ballinderry finished with one, two.

Sid Heasley started with a six but Paul Reid pulled it back next end. Priesthill were 10-6 up at the fifth and after Ballinderry added two singles Heasley finished with two, one to win by five shots.

Three at the fourth gave Raymond Stubbs a 4-2 lead but Ian Ferguson lifted a four to lead 4 with an end left when Ballinderry added a double.

A five helped Gordon Stubbs to an 8-1 lead at the fifth and another five made it 15-2 with an end left when Philip Melville lifted a single.
