Lisburn Fourths maintained their unbeaten league campaign with an excellent 51 run win over BISC Seconds.

Lisburn won the toss and batted, with Michael and Ben Glass getting the team off to another solid start.

Michael continued his incredible form with a season’s best 79, and he got strong support from Matthew Prentice (22), Adam Glass (19) and Nathan Doak (14).

Lisburn’s 156 for 7 in their 30 overs looked a winning target and it proved to be so.

William Blair (2 for 20), Jude Postlethwaite (2 for 25), Nathan Doak (2 for 17), Thomas Jeevan (1 for 24) and Edward Kyle (2 for 10) all bowled well.

Jude was the star in the field with two good catches and a direct hit run out. BISC were all out for 105 in 22 overs.

Lisburn Fourths are now top of the Junior 9 league with three wins from three, very impressive for a team built around the junior squad.

Lisburn U13s win away at Inst Bs

Lisburn U13s won a tight match against Inst Bs in the league on Monday night.

Inst Bs won the toss and chose to bat and set off at a tremendous rate with the ball flying to the short boundary far too often.

Two wickets in two balls from Michael Glass (2 for 21) finally started to stem the tide. Zach Croskery (2 for 19) was the pick of the bowlers with Oliver Patterson and Jack Dillon outstanding in the field saving the team many runs.

Jude Postlethwaite took another brilliant catch - as he seems to do every game - as Inst B’s finished on 136 for 7.

Lisburn’s strong batting line up set about the target with great relish, and Michael Glass and Nathan Doak both had to be retired on 50 as is required by the league rules.

Nathan hit one over for 26 and Michael hit 6 boundaries in another fluent knock.

Tim Curragh (13), Zach (7 not out) and Oliver (2 not out) got the team home in the last over to record an excellent 8 wicket win.

That makes it two wins out of three games for Lisburn U13s in the league, which is an excellent start to their first season in the top league for several years.
