ravernet potholer trapped in flooded cave

Some 36 years ago a young Ravernet potholder was trapped for eight hours in a flooded cave 150 feet beneath the surface in Co Fermanagh.

In 1977 David Woods (19) and a friend, Alan Williams, were reported as the first potholders to be rescued from a cave in Ireland as hundreds of rescuers worked tirelessly at the surface.

They were trapped by rapidly rising water in the Boho system of caves near Belcoo.
