Firms to fore of fashion
Over 200 summer and autumn collections were selected to be shown in Belfast Fashion Fair which was planned to take place in March 1985.
Some 70 exhibitors were scheduled to take part, including manufacturers from outside the province and a good representation from local manufacturing companies. The Local Enterprise Development Unit was one of the exhibitors and 10 small manufacturing companies were represented on its stand. The new fair, of international standard was organised by Futura Fashion Fair Ltd, who had several years of experience as specialist trade fair organisers.
Gerry Murphy, the Fair’s organiser, generated a comprehensive campaign to focus the attention on the Belfast event.
