Local lad Eoin McNally won Gold medals in two Northern Ireland Trampoline Championship events.

Eoin pulled off a unique double winning the Northern Ireland Championship and the Northern Ireland Schools Championships.

Saturday Eoin competed for the first time nationally in the Regional category, in the under 15’s section and won gold with his highest score ever.

The following day he competed at the Intermediate level in the in the Northern Ireland Schools Championships and again took gold in the under 14’s event.

His tremendous success sets Eoin up for next season to travel to England to compete in UK National Events.

His achievements on Sunday also qualified him for the UK Northern Zonal Schools Trampoline Competition to be held at Ards Leisure Centre on 31st January. If Eoin comes in the top three at this event he goes on to represent Northern Ireland in the UK Final. Eoin is a member of The Trampoline Network which trains at the Lisburn LeisurePlex.

Fellow teammates from The Trampoline Network also performed well over the weekend.

Anna Boe came fourth on Saturday at the Northern Ireland Championships in the under 15’s at Advanced Level and achieved one place better to take the Bronze Medal on Sunday in the under 19’s Intermediate Level in the Northern Ireland Schools Championships.

Her first year in this age group the result bodes well for Anna in the future who has three more years to improve at this level. Anna also qualifies for the UK Northern Zonal Championships and will be training hard to achieve the UK qualification score.

Anna lives and trains in Lisburn, she attends Wallace High School and competed for them on Sunday.

On Saturday the clubs third member Rachel Crowe competed at Novice Level and came 8th in the under 11 age group. Her first year at the Championships and no mean feat having only qualified two months earlier in her first ever trampoline competition. Rachel is one to watch.

Trampolining is an Olympic sport and all club members will be setting their sights on the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
