Enjoying a beautiful sunny afternoon by the sea, the team consisting of Hilary Bradley, Maureen Bryson, Barbara Hawkins, Amy Jeffers, Bernie McDonald and Sharon Stewart won two out of the three matches, finishing one hole up overall.
The pairing of Maureen Bryson and Amy Jeffers combined youth and experience to win the first match one up. Amy’s handicap is surely going to tumble this season.
In the second match, Sharon Stewart and Hilary Bradley were disappointed to lose four and three. However, Barbara Hawkins and Bernie McDonald fought back to win the final match four and three, with Bernie chipping in for an impressive birdie two at a par three hole.
Team Captain Janice Wallace was absolutely delighted with the team’s performance and thinks that this result, away from home, gives the team a strong advantage going into the home leg on Sunday.
