Lady Captain of Lisburn Golf Club, Margaret Boyd, hosted a very successful Captain’s Day on Tuesday June 16.
Mrs. Boyd welcomed over 100 members and guests to her Stableford Competition with play commencing at 8.45am and running smoothly to late afternoon.
To everyone’s delight, the weather conditions were excellent and the course was in superb order, ensuring lots of run on the ball and perfect scoring conditions.
Refreshments of scones and strawberries were available to the ladies throughout the day and family and friends were entertained to afternoon tea in the clubhouse.
Following the competition, the ladies and visitors returned to the clubhouse in the evening and were welcomed with a glass of Buck’s Fizz and enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Albert and served by Jane and her team.
Before the prize presentation, Lady Captain thanked all the participants who played and the many people who contributed to the success of her special day. They included the members of the committee for all their help and advice, the Greens staff for the excellent condition of the course, the kitchen and bar staff as well as the office staff.
Colleen Logan and Joyce Anderson were commended for organising the beautiful flower arrangements while Vera Hewitt was thanked for looking after the outdoor plant containers which provide a welcoming splash of colour for all members.
