Ian McDonnell (13) produced a stunning front nine to tee up his victory at Lisburn GC last Saturday.
After a birdie four at the first, Ian went on to complete the opening nine holes in two over par 38 for 25 points. Some players would be happy with 25 points for 18 at this stage of the season!
After a poor start to the back nine, he redeemed himself with a four pointer at the 16th.
He finished with a par three for three points and a back nine score of 19 points. His winning total was three ahead of Jack Shellard (6).
A birdie three at the ninth gave Jack a front nine of 35 and 22 points. He recovered from a double bogey six at 17 to finish with a birdie two for 41 points.
John Price (9), Philip Mulholland (23), David Tinsley (22) and Alan Crowe (19) finished on 40 with Philip’s back nine of 22 points claiming third place on count-back.
The heavy rain on Friday left the course very damp but over 200 competitors took part in the competition.
The early starters completed their rounds in dry conditions before the rain returned in the afternoon.
Chris Moulds won the gross prize due to a brilliant back nine of 33 for 21 points and 37 overall. After a six at the 10th, he finished with five threes and three fours in the last eight holes.
