Garvey fall in exciting finish

There was a cliff hanger finish at Warren Gardens with Lisnagarvey down by a shot overall and Ivan Craig’s rink the last on the green, but Balmoral picked up a three in the end and Garvey had to settle for two points in NIBA Division 1.

Craig’s rink were well down for most of the game but came back to 10-16 before losing that vital three.

Down 7-9 at the tenth and 11-14 at 16 ends Neil Mulholland came back with six and three to win by five shots.

Philip Cromie lifted a four and a five and was 13-12 ahead at 11 ends, but 14-17 down at 15 ends before losing by three shots.

A four helped Noel Graham to an 11-8 lead at the tenth but he was 13-15 down at 15 ends before coming back with four and three to win by three shots.

Garvey B lose at Musgrave

Lisnagarvey B gained 1.5 points away to Musgrave in their first match in new surroundings of NIBA Division 3.

Adrian McNevison was 11-5 up at the tenth and17-10 five ends later but he had to settle for a tie.

Down 5-9 at the tenth and 6-15 at 15 ends Phil Lavery stormed back to win by a shot.

Denis Rankin fell behind and it stayed that way, 5-12 at the tenth and 9-18 at 15 ends before losing by seven shots.

It was a disaster day for Bobby Carroll, down 6-15 and 8-20 before losing by 24 shots.
