Derriaghy reach out a helping hand in Cape Town

Derriaghy Cricket Club youth player Reece Malone recently presented a donation on behalf of the club to the MD of the Amy Biehl Foundation in Cape Town.

The Foundation works with children in the Townships to encourage and expand their educational experiences.

Reece is in South Africa as a member of the NCU development squads who are visiting and playing six games in the Cape Town area. Along with the donation, the tour party handed over 10 bags loaded with sports equipment and educational materials.

Derriaghy Cricket Club youth section have announced plans for the new season ahead.

On Monday 13 April from 6.30pm at the clubhouse, they will be holding their registration evening for boys and girls over seven who are interested in developing their skills and playing the game.

Forms and the £30 fee to cover coaching sessions on Monday nights during the year will be collected.

Practice sessions will then commence on Monday 20 April and run each week from 5.45pm to 7pm for primary school children and from 6.45pm to 8.30pm for those up to 15 years.
