Lisburn school’s triumph at Olympic Handball contest

The morning of fast paced action was enjoyed by both Boys and Girls teams from local primary schools which saw, Ballinderry PS, Downshire PS, Lisburn Central PS, Pond Park PS and St Joseph’s PS all competing.

Each school had the opportunity to play each other in a round robin format with the top two teams from both sections playing in a final.

In the girls section, Downshire Primary came out on top as they narrowly overcame Pond Park in their final while in the Boys section, St Joseph’s PS came a close second as they were beaten in the final by Pond Park Primary in what was a very close encounter between the two schools.

The winners and runners up in each section will now go forward to represent Lisburn in the South Eastern Handball Finals against the top teams from North Down, Ards and Bangor later this year.
