Lisburn pupils race to the finish with Flahavan’s

Young athletes from Lisburn were out in force for the second round of the Flahavan’s Porridge Athletics NI Primary School Cross Country League.

Pupils from Riverdale PS put on a great performance winning both the boys’ and the girls’ races. Alex Moore got the gold in the boys’ race whilst Ellie-Mae Dickson came first in the girls’ event. Katie McCleery, also of Riverdale PS finished in second place in the girls’ race.

The League, which is committed to encouraging young people to have an active and healthy lifestyle and was recently launched by reigning NI Cross Country Champion Declan Reed, will attract 5,200 young athletes across three rounds this season.

Following the final the top 20 girls and boys will be invited to join the Flahavan’s Porridge Athletics NI Junior Cross Country Squad.
