Lisburn edged out in league final

Lisburn City Swimming Club coach with her Bangor and Ards counterparts at the Aquasprint Division One finals night.

The defending champions had just too much for a very impressive Lisburn and Bangor in the final, which took place at Lisburn Leisureplex last Friday. The final score on the night was Ards 297, Lisburn 288 and Bangor 257.

The much anticipated Forest Feast AquaSprint Junior Swimming League Finals saw approximately 1500 young swimmers from 24 clubs across Ulster competing at eight locations. The top three teams in each of the four divisions (A,B,C and D) went head to head to secure victory in their division and lift the AquaSprint trophy, with the remaining teams fighting it out to avoid relegation.

Deirdre Burns, Forest Feast marketing manager said: “The Forest Feast AquaSprint Swimming League competitors are a real credit to their clubs and families. Their dedication and commitment to training and competing throughout the season has been incredible.

“Friday night’s performance of sportsmanship illustrated just how much fun it can be for Ulster’s youngest swimmers to take part in competitive sports, while reinforcing the importance of healthy snacking as part of an active and balanced lifestyle.
