Ken takes his seat as the new Captain at Lisburn Golf Club
Over ninety members attended as the outgoing Captain John Boyd was in the chair.
After passing the Council’s reports and resolutions, the outgoing President Andrew Crawford proposed David Tinsley as his successor.

Hide AdIn seconding the proposal, Neil Roulston mentioned that David had been captain of Lisburn Rugby Club for three years before being captain of the Golf Club in 2001. David thanked the members for electing him.
The outgoing captain John Boyd thanked the council and members for their support during the year, highlighted the achievements of the Irish Junior Foursomes victory at The Heath and the success of the Ulster Fourball team.
He finished by proposing Ken Haslem as the new captain and wished him well for the coming season. He said that Ken had been a very enthusiastic supporter of Lisburn Golf Club teams and a hard working council member.
Neil Patton seconded the proposal. The new Captain’s first duty was to propose Ivor Walker as Vice-Captain. In seconding the proposal, Stephen Shaw highlighted the work Ivor had done as greens convener.

Hide AdNoel Robinson and Ernie Taylor were re-elected as Hon Secretary and Hon Treasurer respectively.
There were four nominations for two places on the new council. Peter Cairns and David McDowell were elected.
As there was no o ther business, the new captain invited the members to join him at the bar for refreshments.
