Hilden reach Irish Cup quarter finals

Hilden reached the quarter finals of the new IBA Intermediate Cup when they travelled to Dublin on Saturday to play Westmanstown in the second round.

Hilden were always in control with wins on all four rinks and the overall winning margin 36 shots.

Keith Morrison led the way with a 21 shots win and Jonathan McMullan got home by ten shots.

There was a three shots win for Raymond Gourley and Colin Montgomery had two shots to spare.

R. Gourley 23-20; K. Morrison 31-10; J. McMullan 24-14; C. Montgomery 18-16.

Hilden B still holding their own

Despite a 36 shots home defeat and no points to Cliftonville B, Hilden B are still holding their own in Private Greens Division 5, having taken five points in midweek.

Down 7-15 at the tenth and 9-19 at 15 ends Robin Campbell lost by 16 shots.

Drew Harron was 10-6 ahead at the tenth and 13-12 at 15 ends but Hilden lost by six shots.

Down 8-9 at the tenth and 11-15 at 15 ends Hugh Murray lost by nine shots.

At the tenth Davy Sloan was 8-4 ahead but 10-11 down at 15 ends before losing by five shots.

Hilden B continued their recent good form in Private Greens Division 5 when they took five points at home to Forth River B on Tuesday night. Drew Harron led the way with a 22-9 win and Hugh Murray also got home 17-13.

Robin Campbell and John Jordan lost but Hilden were always in control.
