Uphill battle for Lambeg in return leg of the Ulster Fourball competition

Lambeg had an uphill battle when they travelled to Blacklion in Co.Monaghan for the return leg of the Ulster Fourball after losing 3.5 to 1.5 at home.

Blacklion, last year’s runners-up, won the first match against the pairing of Club Captain Stephen Boyd and team Captain David Hilland 3 and 2, but a fine performance from Bobby Meehan and Derek Porter levelled the score when they won 3 and 2. The third and fourth matches were sitting all square before they were called in after Blacklion secured there overall victory winning the last match 5 and 4.

Michael Pollins (13) won his first competition for quite a while with a magnificent performance scoring 44pts, four shots clear of his next opponent, Chris Boyd (20).

Chris secured the runner-up spot from Aaron Smylie (23) after a count-back when they both finished on 40pts. Ivor Harron (6) won Best Gross.

The Wednesday Hat was won by Michael English with 38pts.
