Rockmount ladies host first Bridge Drive

ROCKMOUNT Ladies Golf Club hosted their first ever bridge drive, afternoon tea and fashion show. The day was inspired and organised by Honorary Secretary, Margaret Harrison. The afternoon started with the bridge drive; there were some very serious players and some ladies playing for fun. Thank you to Mr Ron Hall who organised the Bridge on the day.

After the bridge the ladies enjoyed afternoon tea and a fashion show. The clothes for the fashion show were from Rockmount’s golf shop. The day was so successful Rockmount Ladies Club hope it will be an annual event. Proceeds went to the Lady Captain’s chosen charity Tiny Life. This year’s Winter League team theme was Pop Stars with the various teams named after a variety of pop groups. Even with the weather, there were some great scores over the winter months. The winners were as follows: McCrory Winter League Trophy. Division 1. 1st - Queen (Carole Johnston, Tish Gilmore, Joyce Millar, Maire Donnelly, Bernie Trail and Daphne Beggs). 2nd – Britney Spears (Kathleen Morrow, Jan Lindsay, Moyra Evans, Aileen Wright, Jenny Bain, Karen Sloan and Sub: Margaret Harrison) Division 2. 1st - The Blues Brothers (Ciara Agnew, Lorraine Toolan, Catherine Ross, Vi Anderson, Helen Setterfield, Audrey Chambers, and Subs: Andrea Watson and Noreen Mikhael). Fleet Winter Ringer: Lowest Gross - Joni Chan, Nett - Christina Haycock. Morrow Winter League Champion 1st Daphne Beggs, 2nd Heather Mills.
