He started in cold conditions but when the sun came out he had a run of 13 points in the next four holes.

Unfortunately he could not add to his total at the final hole, but he won Division 1 of the Winter League on count back from Robin McCoosh.

A par three at the 18th would have given Robin victory but his putt for a three lipped out.

David Scott who also finished with 19 points failed to score at the final hole.

Decisive

Norman Lambe and Eddie Rowan topped Division 2 with 19 points. Eddie’s ‘ding’ at the 13th proved decisive on count back giving Norman first place with Graeme Kerr third a point behind.

Chris Todd was top scorer with 22 points in winning Division 3. He was one of the few competitors to finish with a birdie two for four points. Trevor Doak was second on 19 points and David Johnston third on 17.

The green staff have just completed work on the large bunker to the right of the third green.

It has been reduced in size and shaped to collect ‘loose’ shots that drift to the right of the green.

Already many favourable comments have been received. The work on bunkers which started three years ago continues with alterations being made to bunkers at the 15th and 16th holes.
