Friends’ girls lift tennis title as teams reach Ulster Finals’

Two year 8 teams from Friends’ reached the Ulster Finals’, which were played at Bangor Tennis Club recently. It was a great day with the matches played in lovely sunshine.

The Year 8 Boys had a very successful season reaching the Cup Final. However they were up against it, facing a strong Campbell College team.

The boys played some great tennis and after a long hard struggle the result was 3-3. When games were counted back Campbell lifted the cup by 4 games. These boys are very talented and show much promise for the future.

The Year 8 Girls’ team competed in the final of the plate. The match was against Glenlola Collegiate School.

This was another close encounter also ending in a 3-3 draw but this time on count back Friends’ lifted the title by 3 games, 39-36.

These girls have made a great start to their tennis at Friends’ and will hopefully be successful again in years to come.
