The Whites welcomed PSNI to New Grosvenor for their fifth round meeting, in a match which both sides could have taken the victory, but they will ultimately have to play it again.

Distillery couldn’t seize their opportunities and were somewhat relieved to hear the final whistle, having gone down to nine men with both Ben Browne and Stuart Thompson being shown second yellow cards.

The two sides will meet at Newforge, Belfast at 1.30pm on Tuesday, January 21, to fight for a place in the sixth round, where the winner will meet Queen’s University on Saturday, February 8.

“I thought we could have been a couple up at half time, but we didn’t take our chances,” Kincaid said of Saturday’s match.

“They were the better side in the second half, but the decisions made on the day changed things.

“We can moan about two sendings off that shouldn’t have been but at the same time we could have had our keeper sent off and he wasn’t.

“I thought it was an automatic red if you handle outside the area but I spoke to a referee who works with me and he said it’s only if he prevents a clear goalscoring opportunity.

“Tuesday is going to be a tough game,” Kincaid commented.

“We will have a few boys back from suspension after Saturday, but we could have one or two missing because of work.

“It’s an early kick off, years ago that wouldn’t have been a problem, but you just have to get on with things and work with what you have.”
