Match of the Day
Sandy Row II 0
10th Old Boys 3
10th Old Boys were in control for much of this South Antrim League Division 2 game at Fullerton Park and came away with a 3-0 win over Sandy Row II.
They took the lead after 20 minutes through Stephen Allen at a corner kick, but that was how the score remained at half-time.
Thirty seconds into the second period 10th added a second goal with Dan Agnew on target and when the Sandy Row keeper dropped the ball Ryan Stewart was quickest to react to clinch the points for the Old Boys.
It was an entertaining game with some good football played throughout from both teams.
Afterwards, 10th manager, William Gunning, said they were not quite getting it together in the first-half, but after the break they played very well as a team.
He added: “Both teams played their part in an entertaining and enjoyable game. I would like to pay tribute to the referee who had a good game and we are enjoying life in the South Antrim League.’’
Sandy Row manager, Johnny Creaney, said they were disappointing at times, but were missing two players to the firsts. “Still we managed to play some good football, but never looked likely to score.’’
Next week’s featured match will be the Premier Division game between Warren YM and Belvoir FC at the Recreation Centre.
