Second trophy of theseason for Ballymacash

BALLYMACASH YM won their second trophy of the season when they added the Supplementary Cup to the South Antrim League title with a 3-1 win over Lambeg Rangers at Stanley Park on Friday night.

They took the lead through Graham Phillips and were on top early on, but Lambeg came back to level the score with a goal from Ryan Nixon.

Ballymacash had a couple of good chances, but Lambeg had the best opportunity to take the lead but Stuart Adams fluffed his lines despite having two opportunities to put the ball in the net.

It was 1-1 at half-time and Lambeg had the ball in the net after the break but the goal was ruled out. With 20 minutes left Chris Richmond, who had earlier missed a good scoring chance, restored the Young Men’s lead with a cracking drive.

Rangers pushed forward in an attempt to force extra time, but they were punished near the end when Simon Hull, who had just been introduced as a sub, put the result beyond doubt.

League chairman, Clifford Hanna, presented the awards and the trophy to the winners and also the man of the match award to Ballymacash captain, Alan Rodgers.
