She will begin a four year football scholarship later this year and will study sports coaching, which is an ambition as a career for Hannah.

“I’m excited to go away, I can’t wait,” said Hannah. “I also want to go round the different states.”

Whilst globetrotting Hannah has never been to the US, she has travelled to numerous countries as part of her football career, with the talented footballer having represented Northern Ireland at Under 17, 19 and Senior Level.

“I’ve never been to America,” Hannah said, “but I’ve travelled to Sweden, Spain, Italy and Macedonia with Northern Ireland, and I’m going to Denmark in April.”

The teenager started her sporting activities in primary school, and has gone from strength to strength.

“From I was about eight or nine I started playing Gaelic football and then football,” Hannah explained.

The local girl was also recently presented with an All Star award, having been selected for an Ulster Ladies College’s All-Star.

The 18-year-old, who lives in Crumlin, achieved selection for the All-Star side after successfully coming through a series of trials which over 150 girls attended.

Hannah attended an awards ceremony on Friday 15th January to collect her award.

The sporty teen has already represented Antrim ladies at senior level.

Speaking about her award, she said: “I had three trials at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena in Cookstown, where they decided the final 25.

“We then had a dinner and dance at Kelly’s Inn, Tyrone where the awards were presented.

“I was the only one selected from Co. Antrim,” Hannah added.

St Patrick’s Academy said they were “immensely proud” of Hannah and what she has achieved to date.
