“Sport has a very important part to play in improving the health and well-being of all our communities, particularly in more socially deprived areas and I am delighted to lend my support in launching Colin Park’s exciting new facility which I know will have a positive impact for people across West Belfast and beyond.”

A local social enterprise, the Colin Glen Trust has been a key driver in developing leisure facilities for people in the local community for many years and has recently added an exciting new golf driving range to accompany its 9 hole golf course. Speaking at the launch, Chief Executive Colin O’Neill of Colin Glen Trust added: “This development represents the next stage in the Trust’s ongoing efforts to provide leisure and recreation facilities to help improve the social capital, mental and physical health of local people.

“The new pitches will enable local schools and community groups to get involved in a variety of sports. We also intend to run late night soccer leagues and provide opportunities for local clubs and groups who previously could not get access to the facilities they needed.”
