Local teams get ready for new season

Lisburn Distillery have announced their first two pre-season friendlies for season 2015-16.

Both games will be played at New Grosvenor stadium and will feature premier league opposition.

The first game is on Thursday July 16 against Ballymena United and then a few days later on Tuesday July 21 Dungannon Swifts will be the visitors.

The new season kicks off on Saturday August 8.

Meanwhile, Downshire Young Men have recently formed an U17 team which shall be competing in the Lisburn Youth League next season.

They are currently recruiting new players and any young players born in 1999 or later interested in joining should contact either Rodney on 07903182991 or Saran on 07594445024.

Pre season training shall commence in the last week of June at the Club’s Grounds on the Old Coach Road, Hillsborough.

Downshire YM are looking for a new 2nd Team Manager/Coach.

This team currently compete in Division 3C of the Northern Amateur Football League.

The club would like preferably someone with managerial experience, to work along with the Youth and First team management to progress the players into Junior/Intermediate football.

Downshire will hold a Fun Day tomorrow (Saturday May 30) at the Clubhouse, Old Coach Road, where the newly formed U17’s will play a friendly, kick off 12pm.
