Another chanceafter final is halted

THE Cup Final between Ballymacash Rangers and Banbridge Rangers was abandoned with 59 minutes played after a Banbridge player suffered a broken leg.

Officials from the Mid-Ulster League, the match referee and managers of both teams decided that abandoning the game was the correct decision in view of the injured player and the issue of fading light also a major factor.

Banbridge, who were 2-0 ahead when the game was called to a halt, were by far the superior side with the Lisburn side struggling to match their opponents and Ballymacash can count themselves very fortunate that they have been given another chance although they would have hoped in different circumstances.

The match will also be free entry with a donation to the injured player being asked off supporters instead.
