Action from the Distillery Academy

TOP billing this week at The Lisburn Distillery Academy went to the U-15’s and the Wee Whites kept a five point difference between themselves and Glentoran at the top of the league by drawing 1-1 with the East Belfast side, Mark Smith getting the goal.

The U-13’s bounced back from the disappointment of losing the cup semi-final by putting four goals past fifth placed Sunnyside although there was no such luck for the U-11’s as they lost 6-1 to Glentoran with Jason Scott scoring the solitarty goal.

Lurgan were dispatched 2-1 by the ever improving U-14’s, the names on the scoresheet Tyler Guy and Leon Young in this one. The U-17’s lost narrowly 2-1 against Carrick but a 4-0 victory over Hillsborough was a welcome return to form for the U-16’s, Chris Walsmsley and Rhys Grainger with two apiece the goalscorers.

A 3-0 half-time lead thanks to goals from Lewis Parker, Elliot Hagan and Jamie Hamilton should have been enough for three points for the U-12’s but a lack of concentration allowed opponents Greenisland to snatch a 3-3 draw.

At mini-soccer level Jonathan McCullough and Conall Cunningham were amongst the numerous goalscorers in a match with Shankill Juniors but it was in another game with Albion Star that the very Wee Whites produced an excellent comeback, after starting poorly they stormed back with Louis McKinney and Noah Perry getting goals.
