Fishery holds annual charity competition

THE annual Teggart Memorial Competition in Aid of Cystic Fibrosis took place on Saturday at Islandderry Fishery, Dromore.

Weather conditions were perfect and there was a great turnout with plenty of quality trout caught.

Matthew McFadden, Lisburn was the top angler in the fly fishing competition with his heaviest three fish of the day totaling 19lb1 which included a 7lb and 7lb6 trout.

Second place went to Donaghacloney angler James Herdman with a three fish bag weight of 15lb5 with his best fish 6lb6 and third place went to Andy McCandless, Dromore with three fish for 14lb1, his best fish 6lb4.

Paul Brown, Dromore took the heaviest fish with a lovely trout weighing in at 8lb. Belfast angler Maurice Teggart took first place in the bait competition, while his great nephew Matthew Teggart took second and beating his dad Martin again for the second year in a row and leaving Martin to settle for third place.

A great day was had with £430 raised for Cystic Fibrosis.
