Final glory for Lisburn Youth

LISBURN Youth lifted the under-12 trophy at the Lindsay Cars Lisburn Junior Invitational Shield finals at Ballymacoss Playing Fields on Saturday morning with a 3-2 win over Portadown Youth.

But Lisburn Distillery Youth lost out to a "golden goal'' winner in the second period of extra time against Shankill Juniors in the under-15 decider

AFTER a scoreless first-half Davy McKinley and Stuart Hamilton got the decisive goals for Banbridge Juniors against Ridgeway rovers.

UNDER-12: LISBURN YOUTH 3 PORTADOWN YOUTH 2

SCOTT Cowan gave Portadown Youth the lead at half-time but after the break Lisburn Youth hit back with goals from Ben Scott, Keegan Rice and Reece Neill. Shea Conaty scored in the closing stages for Portadown but Lisburn held out to lift the trophy.

UNDER-13: LOUGHSIDE YOUTH 2 SUNNYSIDE BOYS 3 aet

KEELAN McWilliams and a Simon Scott penalty gave Sunnyside Boys a 2-1 lead, but Mark Jeffers added to Junior Long's first-half strike to level the game for Loughside Youth with the last kick of normal time. However, Josh Duran got Sunnyside's winner in the first period of extra time.

UNDER-14: NEWHILL YOUTH 2 GREENISLAND BOYS 3 aet

GAVIN Richards gave Greenisland Boys the lead but Newhill Youth went ahead through Conor McCabe and Chris Carson before Conor McAuley made it 2-2 at full time. Jonathan Fraser got the "golden '' winner in the second period of extra time.

UNDER-15: SHANKILL JUNIORS 1 LISBURN DISTILLERY YOUTH 0 aet

NEITHER team could find the net in normal time and it was the second period of extra time before Curtis Douglas grabbed the "golden goal'' winner for Shankill Juniors

UNDER-16: BALLYMENA YOUTH 3 CRUSADERS YOUTH 2

BALLYMENA Youth led 2-0 and 3-1 with two goals from Conor McKenna and the other for Aaron McGregor. Jordan Gribben and Ryan McCready responded for Crusaders Youth.
