Eglantine remained top of Section B of the Roy Kennedy Fuels Indoor Bowling League following a 15 shots win and six points away to St Colman’s Lambeg.

Three at the fourth gave Lawrence Long a 5-2 lead and he was 8-4 up with two ends when Ken Purnell finished with two, one to finish a shot down.

Charlie Morrison started with one, three, one and after James Burns lifted his only single Eglantine added four doubles and a single to win by 13 shots.

Mel McQuillan was 4-1 ahead at the fourth and 7-3 with an end left when Gary McWilliams finished with a double.

Sloan Street kept the pressure on Eglantine with an eight shots home win and six points against St Matthew’s Broomhedge.

Billy Hobson started with four, one but Thelma Irwin levelled with a four two ends later. Broomhedge added three, two but Sloan Street finished with two, two, one to tie.

A four helped Stephen Irwin to lead 10-0 at the sixth and though John Gray finished with a five and two singles he still lost by three shots.
