Darts comp’s are held in leagues

The Charity Cup semi finals and final were played in the First Blues Rooms on Friday.

Byrnes A played Ballinderry in the first semi, with Ballinderry quickly out of the blocks winning the first two games through E. Moulds (2x100, 21 darts) and Nigel Brown (140). Alas this was their lot as Byrnes A took the next six for an easy win. P. White (100, 140, 19 darts), N. Dunwoody (2x100), N. McCabe (100), N. Dillon (3x100), S. Lennon (100, 140, 21 darts), D. Geddis (2x100, 20 darts) to book their place in the final.

The second semi was a much closer affair, going to the very last game before Maghaberry A emerged as victors over Marketview.

Maghaberry winners were P. Kirkwood, I. Gardiner (100, 21 darts), A. Finnie, A. Johnston (100), D. Hull, P. Presho (4x100, 19 darts).

Marketview winners were M. McKee (100, 180, 18 darts), K. Bowden (100), A. Hanna, F. McMahon and B. Jones.

The final between Byrnes A and Maghaberry A started brilliantly for Maghaberry A, winning four of the first five games with some fantastic darts.

It was then Byrnes A who came to life winning the next five for a hard fought 6-4 victory. Byrnes A winners were R. Montgomery (100, 125, 18 darts), G. Bell, J. Wilson (117, 140), S. Lennon (100, 140), M. McLernon (125, 140, 17 darts), N. McCabe (100).

Maghaberry A winners were R. Ellis (100, 140, 20 darts), P. Presho (100, 140, 18 darts), D. Hull (100) and P. Kirkwood.

Division 2

Dunmurry Inn 9 pts; Manor Inn 8 pts; Catch-My-Pal 6 pts; Byrnes B 6 pts; Maghaberry B 6 pts; McCrums 5 pts; Laganview 2 pts.

Lisnagarvey Darts League

• The Garvey League Individual competition held at their sponsors rooms at Hilden Bowling Club last Friday saw 64 competitors playing to a packed house, with some magnificent darts and high scoring throughout.

The Individual Winner Marty Guy of Dunmurry C/C beat Alan Carlisle of Benmore in a nail biting high scoring final, ton machines at work.

Runners up Frankie Jamison, Steven Martin. Quarter finalists D. Scott, G. Lyttle, D. Toole and L. Neill.

It’s back to league action tonight (Friday): Anvil v Downside, Bleachers v Ballymac, Borderers v Derriaghy C/C, Dunmurry v Beattie, Highwaymen v Whites, Hillsborough A v Benmore and Sandymount v First Blues.
