Lisburn lost the toss and the Waringstown side made the best of good firm wicket with Waite [68], McClean [29] and Kidd 28 not out taking them to the impressive score of 251 for 7 in their 50 overs with the Lisburn bowling attack finding difficulty in penetrating the strong batting line-up.

Nathan Cartmill was the pick of the Lisburn bowlers with 3 for 50 while the spin of Lightbody also caused problems as he finished with the respectable figures of 3 for 53.

Lisburn’s reply was always behind the required run rate and after losing some early wickets, Derek Suffern showed some tenacity scoring the top score of 39 while quite a few Lisburn batsmen got themselves in but could not go on to register a score which would threaten the Waringstown total and in the 43rd over Lisburn were all out for 179 losing by 72 runs.
