Byes and home ties for locals in Irish Cup

ALL of the local teams received byes in the first round of the Irish Bowling Association Senior Cup, due to be played on Saturday, May 11 and to stretch their good fortune all four received home second round ties on Saturday, May 25.

Hilden and Malone both face opposition from down south, with Hilden due to entertain CYM and Malone rolling out the welcome mat for Bray. Both these games start at 1.00 p.m. and both will be difficult assignments.

Lisnagarvey face up to Private Greens opponents, Mossley, while Dromore have a home date with Dungannon.

The good fortune did not extend to the local teams in the Irish Junior Cup, particularly Lagan Valley, who have to travel to Londonderry Park B in the first round on Saturday, May 11 and if they get through face another journey to Castleton B or Divis B in the second round on Saturday, May 25.

Dromore B team travel south to play ICICYMA with a 1.00 p.m. start in the second round on Saturday, May 25.

Hilden B face a difficult second round tie away to Old Bleach B and Lisnagarvey B travel to known territory at Sydenham also in the second round.
