Blues in confident mood for Celtic trip

LINFIELD go into tonight's game at Donegal Celtic brimming with confidence after recording their biggest league win of the season.

The Blues stretched their unbeaten run to nine games with a 4-0 win over Portadown at the weekend.

"It was a very satisfying performance on several fronts," said manager David Jeffrey. "We have to carry that form on into this challenge. We always get a warm reception at Suffolk Road and I know we will get a tough game on the pitch.

"We have never had an easy game up there and I expect it to be another very competitive encounter."

With striker Peter Thompson having found his goal touch again with two against the Ports the Celtic defence could be in for a tough night.

For Lisburn Distillery boss Tommy Wright he will be looking for a much better effort than Saturday when his side tossed away a two goal lead.

The Whites have a tough trip to Ballymena.

"Saturday was perhaps the worst we have played since I came here. It was poor. We cannot afford to be do that against Ballymena who have made a solid start to the season with some excellent wins.

"We have managed to get a run of points but I'm not going to settle for that. I feel we have a squad that can make a challege to get into the top six so games like tonight are crucial if we are to achieve that goal."
