Ballinderry fall whilst Annahilt rise

Ballinderry lost their second match of the season away to Killaney by five shots, only taking a point which allowed Hillsborough Social to narrow the gap to 10.5 points, though they have a match less played.

The battle at the top may be tighter than usual, but Annahilt Parish have livened things up at the bottom by taking six points at Eglantine in a 24 shots win.

They have closed the gap on St Mark’s, who failed to get a point, to 5.5 points.

But, they have only two matches to play and it may be too little, too late for Annahilt. At the top Social do have the easier run-in

Viv Wigton was 3-0 up at the third but Nathan Haire won the remaining ends and included a three to win by eight shots.

At the fifth Richard McCaw was 6-5 ahead but Robert Sloan won the remaining ends to get home by five shots.

At the third Karen Ellison was 2-1 ahead but Nick Haire included two fours, a three and a six to win by 16 shots.

David Moore’s only shot was at the sixth as Michael Beattie included two fours, a five and two threes when winning by 19 shots.
