Aldi has launched a special edition rainbow ice cream with all profits (equivalent to 50p per tub sold) to be split between NHS Charities Together and Teenage Cancer Trust.

Made in the UK, the Aldi rainbow ice cream (£1.99 per litre) was made available in stores across the UK on Monday 1 June, and will be sold throughout summer, for approximately 10 weeks.

The fun and colourful vanilla and raspberry ripple flavoured ice cream is finished with a rainbow sprinkling of hundreds and thousands.

Charity support

The launch of the new ice cream is part of the supermarket’s ongoing commitment to support NHS staff and volunteers, as well as charity partner Teenage Cancer Trust, which provides specialist care for young people with cancer, aged 13 to 24.

Last month, Aldi launched a limited edition bunch of Rainbow Tulips to mark International Nurses Day, with all profits split between NHS Charities Together and Teenage Cancer Trust.

The discount supermarket provides NHS staff, alongside Blue Light Card holders, with priority access to Aldi stores at all times, along with exclusive access to stores 30 minutes before normal opening times on Sundays.
