The pick of books out in November

November is the month when celebrities, chefs, pop stars, football players and managers vie for their books to be in Christmas stockings.

Among this year’s publications are Sir Cliff Richard’s autobiography The Dreamer and Noel Fitzpatrick’s Being the Supervet: How Animals Saved My Life.

Also out is Banarama’s Really Saying Something and David Bailey: Look Again. The chefs are, as usual, out in force with Jamie Oliver’s 7 Ways, Nigella Lawson’s Cook, Eat, Repeat, and The Hairy Bikers’ Veggie Feasts leading the charge.

Monty Don is at the forefront of gardeners’ output with My Garden World, complete with a picture of his beloved dog on the cover – cute pets get ’em every time!

My pick of self-indulgent tomes is Dick and Angel Strawbridge’s A Year at the Chateau.
