Culture Club and Boy George announce UK tour

Culture Club, the 1980s pop group fronted by Boy George, have announced an 11-date UK tour this November.

'The Life Tour: starring Boy George and Culture Club' will also feature Belinda Carlisle and Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey.

Culture Club, whose hits included 'Karma Chameleon' and 'Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?', will begin the UK leg of their tour at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, before playing shows in Cardiff, Bournemouth, Brighton, London, Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Hull, Glasgow and Leeds.

Boy George said: "We put together an amazing show that is going to be filled with hits and fabulous memories, we know it will be hands down the best night out."

The band formed around the New Romantic scene in London in 1981 and caught the media attention with Boy George's androgynous style and their reggae-influenced pop.

Culture Club's 1982 album Kissing to Be Clever was a commercial success, and they became the first group since The Beatles to have three Top 10 hit singles in America from a debut record.

The band broke up in 1986 but have reformed twice: in 1998 and again in 2011.
