Woman attacked by two teenagers in Lisburn

Police investigating an attempted robbery in Lisburn during which a woman was set upon by two youths have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The incident took place at Benson Street car park, near to the steps that lead down from Thiepval Road, sometime between 6pm and 7pm on Friday, February 3.

During the incident, details of which were only released this week, the female was attacked by two teenage males.

One male was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and the other was wearing blue jeans. They both were wearing black hooded tops and black trainers and both had their faces covered.

"Thankfully they did not manage to steal the female's bag, but this incident would have attracted some attention if there were passers-by," a PSNI spokesperson said.

"Did you see these males hanging about the area before or after the attack?

"You might have even seen the incident but thought it was people fooling around.

"If you think you can help at all please contact Police on 101 quoting serial 1384 05/02/17."
